Tomorrow marks six months since Spencer and I said “I do,” and what a crazy half-year it has been! I’m going to go ahead and admit that I thought very little of everyone’s thoughts about the “honeymoon” period, especially considering Spencer and I first started “dating” in the eighth grade. Hadn’t we been together too long for a period of lovey feelings and overall bliss? Maybe that’s why I was so amazed by how different everything felt over the honeymoon and in the months since.
I suppose “different” isn’t the right word because it’s not like anything had really changed between us. I guess what I mean is that I didn’t think it was possible for life to get any better than it already was… and then it did. I don’t know how, but it did.
I married a great guy (I might be a bit biased, but whatever), and the last six months have been filled with even more of what I’ve come to associate with Spencer and how he expresses love. I have no doubt that these things had at least a smidge to do with how amazing marriage has been so far. For instance…
He takes me to see the Braves in enemy territory, even when our team is so bad that they lose to the Reds. The Reds…
He goes along with my crazy whims, like actually paying money to walk through a sketchy Christmas tree maze in London. (Just look at the terror on his face!)
He’s quite a looker. 😉
But mostly because he’s always willing to go after my frisbee when I throw it into the creek.
There’s also the unconditional love, the fact that he can always make me laugh, and his insane intelligence, but how can you really convey those things in pictures? Thanks for a great first six months of marriage, Babe. Here’s to many more wonderful half-years!
