I’m Tyler Hyde, the voice behind An Aspiring Heroine. By day, I write and manage social media for an awesome educational organization that I probably tweet about too much to be discreet. In the evenings, I write fiction, coerce my husband into doing the cooking, read lots of YA and historical fiction books, watch hokey superhero and fairytale shows, and try to keep the cat from unlocking her cat door in the middle of the night.
I hail from a tiny town in Georgia, and after receiving my undergrad at Washington and Lee University in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, I moved to Cincinnati with Spencer and Zoey (the aforementioned husband and cat, respectively). I started this blog in 2014 as a way to keep friends and family up-to-date on our lives, and it has since been rebranded once, basically abandoned twice, and used as a creative outlet more times than I can count.

- My day isn’t complete until I’ve laughed so hard that I cry, a practice that my coworkers have affectionately termed “Tyler-crying.”
- If I ever did something horrible enough to get me kicked out of the U.S., I would spend the rest of my days on the Dingle Peninsula, where I lived for a month when I studied abroad in Ireland.
