The new and improved An Aspiring Heroine!

I’ve been blogging for almost a year now, and besides when I switched over from WordPress.com to self-hosted WordPress, there hasn’t been a ton of variety in terms of design. I liked what I did with a free blog template, but it didn’t completely reflect me, and more importantly, what I want for this blog. Something classic and clean, but also fun with just a little bit of sparkle.

And that’s when Kelly came in and saved the day! I was lucky enough to win a custom blog design from her design shop, and it was truly difficult to choose between her gorgeous minimalist designs. Each one had something unique to offer, but I ended up choosing this one based on “The World Ahead,” and I love it. (Plus it’s Lord of the Rings-inspired, and you all know I wanted to be a Hobbit when I was a kid!)

“The World Ahead” was our jumping off point, and Kelly let me customize my fonts, colors, layout, and the header. Also, she’s just an overall nice person who didn’t make me feel bad for not knowing anything about blog design, and she gave me instructions for installing the new theme that even I couldn’t mess up. Oh, and did I mention that all of Kelly’s designs are built on the Genesis Framework? Another thing that I know so little about but am excited to learn!

If you’re looking for a new look and feel for your blog (and let’s be honest, even if you aren’t), you should really head over to Kelly’s design site. I’m still making tweaks to the sidebar and about a year’s worth of content, but I’m really happy with how the whole site looks, and it’s gotten me excited to kickoff the summer right. There’s a lot in store for this little space in the coming months! (That being said, you should really go over to my nice new sidebar and get yourself on the mailing list, so you’ll be in the know.)
