November was the strangest month I can remember experiencing in quite some time. With NaNoWriMo at the forefront of it all, it managed to feel too fast while also dragging, and as I’m sure you noticed, I didn’t find the time to write any of the posts that I wanted to. So much for those Writerly Goals…
But December is a new month, and I am ready to conquer it! First, let’s look back at what I did (and didn’t) accomplish in the last thirty days.
Recap:
November Goals: Writing
– Win NaNoWriMo this year (by writing 50,000 in 30 days): I did it! It’s crazy to even type that after last year’s NaNoWriMo failure, but I finished writing last night with 50,212 words written. (Big shoutout to Sarah, Molly, and my loving husband for helping me get through it with most of my sanity intact.)
November Goals: Life
– Exercise consistently throughout NaNo: This didn’t happen, like not even a tiny bit. But Spencer and I did order an elliptical for our spare bedroom over Black Friday, and I’m counting that exercise-conscious moment as something.
– Keep a close eye on my caffeine intake during NaNo: My coffee obsession didn’t skyrocket, and I’m not having caffeine withdrawals, so I’m going to count this one as a win!
And now for some goals for the very last month of 2016…
December Goals
– Finish my “Little Novel Project”
– Keep up with my regular blog posting schedule
Stay tuned for a little post next week about some of my favorite bookworm gift ideas, and then later in the month for more writing updates. My novel has decided to take way longer than I expected to finish, so I’m now shooting for 150,000 words, which will then be edited like crazy back down into a manageable 100,000 or less. Wish me luck!
Did you tackle NaNoWriMo this year? How did it go, and what are your impressions about the organization now that it’s over?
