It’s that time of year, friends! I decided to put together this bookish gift guide filled with small shops to patron when I found so many amazingly unique gift ideas when putting together my own list for my family.
Normally I’d post my Friday Finale of monthly favorites today, but I decided to switch things up to make sure you knew about some of the fantastic Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales at these small businesses.
It’s been a rough year for everyone, and I think it’s important to make an effort to shop small this holiday season. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and it’s important that we support them now so they’ll be around for years to come. I hope you find the tees, mugs, candles, and more for all the bookworms in your life in the shops below!
Bookish Gift Guide
Jordandené
Use code BFCM2020 for 25% off your entire purchase through 11/30.
I have a few tees from Jordandené, and every month when their shirt of the month comes out, I have to convince myself that I don’t need just one more. I’ve been a fan of this brand for years, and I cannot stress how much I recommend their products. The quality is fantastic, and I appreciate that they make eco-friendly choices with their dyes and packaging.
FANDOMS: Too many to list, but a few include Harry Potter, Marvel, V.E. Schwab’s books, Doctor Who, Parks & Rec, and Star Wars
ON MY LIST: As Travars Beanie in White | V.E. Schwab Official Collection
Leaf & Lore
Get 20% off your entire purchase this weekend and next (11/27 – 11/29 and 12/4 – 12/6). No code necessary.
Finally, a store for cute Lord of the Rings merchandise! I scooped up this Fellowship tee as soon as I stumbled upon it on Instagram. It is so soft and truly unisex in size, and I’ve coveted many of their products ever since. Leaf & Lore also produces soy wax candles in fun collections because you can’t have too many candles on a bookish gift guide!
FANDOMS: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Jane Austen’s books, Chronicles of Narnia, Anne of Green Gables, Six of Crows
ON MY LIST: The Classic Settings Sweatshirt in Black
Seeker & Slade
This brand is honestly super new to me. So while I can’t yet vouch for the quality of their products, they’re on my personal wish list this year, and it felt criminal to leave them off this bookish gift guide! I love the imaginative ways this brand uses the Wizarding World in their designs in a clever and cheeky way. It’s worth a browse for the Harry Potter fan in your life!
FANDOMS: Harry Potter
ON MY LIST: Brightest Witch Tee
Litographs
Everything is on sale this weekend with some items up to 50% off.
Would a bookish gift guide be complete without Litographs? I’m such a fan of this concept. Each design includes the actual text from the book and uses negative space to create illustrations representative of the story. You can get the designs as shirts, pillows, puzzles, even shower curtains!
FANDOMS: Basically any classic you can imagine plus a surprising number of contemporary YA novels like Percy Jackson, Red Queen, and the Lunar Chronicles
ON MY LIST: Pride and Prejudice Puzzle
Tookish Candle Company
Another Lord of the Rings brand to love! Tookish Candle Company boasts “soy candles inspired by your favorite stories,” and I love how each candle label includes a quote from whichever moment in the book inspired the scent. The candles are handmade in small batches, and they sell out quickly, so get yours while you can!
FANDOMS: Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia
ON MY LIST: Old Tom Candle
Inkwell Threads
Use code SHOPSMALL25 for 25% off your entire purchase.
This is another new-to-me brand, but it absolutely belongs on this bookish gift guide. It’s the only one on the list with general bookworm style, and it’s all cute and oh so relatable. (Ahem, “one more chapter.”) Inkwell Threads has a pretty wide variety of items, from tees and sweatshirts to hats and jewelry. Everything looks well made, and I’ll report back if I get any of the pieces from my personal wish list!
FANDOMS: General bookworm style, Jane Austen’s books, Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, Outlander, Poldark, Downton Abbey
ON MY LIST: Cultivate Empathy Sweatshirt
Storiarts
Up to 40% off select items.
Storiarts is another one of those brands that feels like it’s been around for forever. It also uses the actual book text to make its designs, though I like that this brand weaves little illustrations alongside the text, as if you were reading off a page in a book. Back when I worked from an office instead of my living room, one of my coworkers wore a pair of these fingerless gloves every single day. (I certainly don’t miss the freezing my ass off part of working in an office!)
FANDOMS: Mostly classics
ON MY LIST: Alice in Wonderland Book Pouch
Fablebands
I discovered Fablebands on Instagram, and I’m obsessed. They carry top knot headbands, faux knot headbands, scrunchies, and scarves. Each design is based on a particular fandom, and I love how bright and imaginative the designs are. (Yes, that’s a Mean Girls scrunchie! So fetch!) For the bookworm in your life who’s looking for a statement piece to represent her favorite book or movie that she can wear any day. A word to the wise: this store also regularly sells out, so hop on it!
FANDOMS: So many classic and contemporary books and films!
ON MY LIST: I Remember You Faux Knot Headband (US)
Are you the bookworm in your family or are you using this list to shop for someone else?
