You completely forget how to log into WordPress.
That’s right, folks. For the first time in months, I thought, “Hmmm, I wonder how my blog’s doing” and then I stared at a blank computer screen for ages trying to remember my login. #bloggerfail
But now I’m back in the saddle, and my page views actually aren’t too terrible. (I guess that whole Pinterest thing really does work.)
Truthfully, I wasn’t sure how to jump back in (for the millionth time), and then I decided to stop overthinking it, so here we go.
Random Thing Number One
We have friends coming into town on Friday, so Spencer and I have been in make-the-house-look-like-we-didn’t-just-move-in mode like nobody’s business. We bought rocking chairs for the front porch and a furniture set for the deck, we cleaned the entire kitchen for the first time in forever, and now we’re nearly finished staining the deck. God (and my actual job) willing, I’ll get a DIY post up soon because man, did I learn some stuff about staining a deck.
Random Thing Number Two
My sister got accepted into the Disney College Program, and I’m not sure I’ve ever been more jealous of her in my entire life. Basically she gets to spend next fall hanging out at Disney World and soaking in the good karma. I can only imagine what four months of good karma does for a person, but it must be something lovely.
She’s a cosplayer/vlogger (and overall big deal), so if because you want to follow along on her journey, check her out on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. To hear how enthusiastic I was about her acceptance (sorry that I sound so bored because I had no doubts she’d get in), skip GO and watch this one.
Random Thing Number Three
It feels like every person that I know is in Ireland right now, and it’s making me insanely jealous and nostalgic, not just for the Emerald Isle but for my BFF and fellow Ireland enthusiast, Sarah.
I’m currently back-reading all of her blog posts because she’s a much better blogger than I am and actually updates more than once a season. She’s always been my go-to therapist, and her blog posts will open your eyes to what life can be if you have the right attitude. I love her so.
Random Thing Number Four
I have been all sorts of terrible to my skin lately, and considering my biggest work event of the year is in a month (cue nervous sweats and difficulty breathing), I have made it my mission to get back into a good skincare routine. So I have my cleansers, my toner, my tinted moisturizer, and most importantly, my brand new, homemade, all natural face cream. I made it in my kitchen today with a little coconut oil and some essential oils, and here’s the recipe if you’re interested.
And finally, for the real reason that I wrote this post. As I was whipping up the face cream that is now slathered all over my face, the following conversation took place:
SPENCER: What’re you doing?
ME: Making face cream
SPENCER: Ice cream?
ME: Face cream
SPENCER: What flavor?
ME: Face cream!
SPENCER:
SPENCER: Can you make ice cream instead?
And with that, I’ll say goodnight. Until next time, which must take place before August otherwise I might as well just stop trying.
