Sometimes I have the very best intentions when it comes to this blog, and it ends up not making a bit of difference when I then forget to comment back, schedule a post to Facebook, or as is the case today, write all of the posts for when I’ll be away on my first ever, real adult business trip. You see, upon visiting the blog today, you should have been greeted with a super fantastic post about having your bachelorette party in Disney World (a sort of sequel to my Drinking Around the World in Epcot post from months back). It’s been on my editorial calendar for months, but I kept putting off writing it because of all the pictures I’d have to compile from the trip. Well it’s a bit late now since I’m already in our nation’s capital… but don’t worry, it’ll be up next month!
Instead, you get this virtually plotless little post. I’m currently sitting on the balcony of my hotel room, looking out over National Harbor, Maryland, and the bits and pieces of Washington, D.C. that I can see further in the background. I touched down at Washington National a few hours ago and have since been picked up in an ExecuCar by the nicest driver known to man and personally escorted to what will be my own corner of the hotel for the next eight days. I have freshly polished toenails (look forward to a review of Revlon’s new ColorStay Gel Envy polishes) and a Reese’s cup left from the lovely hotel staff, so I’m afraid the first day of this business trip is going to lull me into thinking this is a vacation instead of the very busy, potentially stressful work week that I know it will be. But hey, I was up at 4 o’clock this morning dealing with work things, so I say I’ve deserved a few hours of downtime before the storm!
Before I sign off and find my coworkers for some dinner, here are three wishes for the next week and a day:
1. I wish that this nail polish will actually stay chip-free for the whole time I’m here (and maybe give me a touch of whatever it is that makes Olivia Wilde so lovely?)
2. I wish that I will get at least five hours of sleep each night and keep myself hydrated (with water, not just coffee)
3. I wish that I will have a positive impact on everyone that I interact with throughout the trip and that it will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for everyone!
I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day (aka one of the longest work days of the year for me!), and make sure you come back on Monday for an exclusive look at a new app that I got to test this week!
